Safety improvements

June 29th 2020

We are committed to caring for the health and well-being of all members of our squash club, and will be following the government advice as of 24th June:-

"The public cannot: exercise in an indoor sports court, gym or leisure centre, or go swimming in a public pool.". This means that all squash clubs and facilities should remain closed until further notice - this includes anyone wishing to engage in solo practice or members of the same household playing on a squash court.

That said, in preparation for when this guideline does change, and in addition to the refurbishment and improvements already made, we have been busy making some infrastructure and procedure changes for the safety of all who use the facilities at The Racquet Box.

Upon reopening (date TBC) :-

All courts and gym access will be by online booking via the members area, ensuring you have exclusive access to your booked court, this is also to help trace, and record who has been into the court and when . You will no longer be able to turn up on spec.

Each court will now have dedicated unisex changing facilities and all changing facilities will be having new seamless flooring.

Sanitisation stations are being installed, you will be encouraged to sanitise on entry and exit of both the building and the courts.

CCTV of the entrance area will be added for extra help in track and trace if needed.

Lighting is being improved in the entrance hall and external approach.

Access to the building will be by security fob only

We hope these changes will enable you to enjoy continued use of the facilities, with the peace of mind, that all practicable safety measures have been used to ensure the safety of all.

Stay safe, and we will endeavour to keep you up to date with all changes as they happen.
